Abstract
Wireball.com is mostly computer-related technical information. Such as hooking multiple monitors to a computer, or how to upgrade, disassemble and repair a Compaq Armada laptop. The hardware focus tends to be on equipment that's two to six years old. Right about the time the warranties start expiring, and people are a little more willing to or have no recourse but to dig around inside their computers. That's when information that would be considered slightly esoteric to downright warranty-voiding on new equipment comes in handy.
Err, if that makes any sense. Forgive me; it's 1:45 in the morning. Comments are enabled.
A short background
Wireball.com started off as a personal / technical info site, did a brief stint as a high-performance gaming computer manufacturer, returned to being a technical info site, and expanded from there. I supported it out of pocket until I published the Armada 1750 laptop review , followed by the Armada 1750 Disassembly, Upgrade & Repair article. To my surprise, those two articles were my most popular articles ever, bringing in dozens of visitors each week, and then hundreds. The advertising income pays server costs and a little bit of overhead, but for the most part I work on it for free (I'm trying to change that), plus the occasional kind donation from people who found the information useful.
